67ChevyRedNeck, looks like you're doing pretty good with your limited time. You should have cold air in no time.
Shifty, If you are going to shave your firewall, you should buy a universal kit and just mount a 4 hole bulkhead fitting in your block off plate. This will allow for a fairly easy redo of the firewall. Also, I don't think you can convert the retro-kit to a shaved firewall without some extensive modifications. It was made to fill the stock hole, and be a "bolt-in" add-on. I think "un-doing" it will more pain than it is worth just by looking at the VA install manual. I'll try to post some more pics of what I'm talking about in my build thread and link it to here so the information is readily available. r
