Switching cabs 70 to 69

I have all the paper work for the 1969 GMC and actually a 1970 Chevy. I want to switch to the 1969 front clip etc and run it as a 1969. How hard is it or what are the difficulties in changing regarding the paperwork and the VIN.

As a matter of fact I bought the 69 because I thought it was in better shape and now I found a ton of rust under the dash and the whole passenger side. The 70 has the basic rust but the overall cab is in great shape.

What do you think?
