best way to run battery wires?

yesterday, going down my street, all the sudden everything shut off, and my truck stopped... i start to see smoke.. then i notice the battery wire is welded to the header.. and they got so hot...the arced in a few more places...

so im headed to kragans to get some new battery wires...was wondering if anybody had some ideas or pictures of the best way to run the pos/neg, wires... more importantly, how to run the positive wire to the starter without letting the header burn the insulation off the wire and arc it....
