Went to neighbors garage sale

My neighbors across the street just bought a gigantic motor home. They have been 5th wheeling it for the past 5 years...decided it was time to move up I guess. They are going to travel and live in the motor home for a few years and see how things go. A super nice couple, Im going to be sad to see them leave.

I asked him awhile back if he decides to sell his compressor and anything else I might be interested to please let me know before he tosses em in their big garage sale. He stopped me on the way to work the other day and asked me to come over after work...he has a deal for me. I was like a kid at Christmas...wonder what he has for me

That night after work. Here is what he has for me. Compressor with lines, filters, fittings and a few air tools. Two welders with assorted masks, clamps, gloves and welding rods. A hydraulic porta power kit. Garage heater. Bunch of portable lights. Timing light, and I think its a dwell meter (Sears kit). An older small roll away tool box. Four jack stands. An electric vacuum pump (not the Austin Powers type). A bunch of misc hand tools, and some left over paint from when he had one of his trucks repainted. (And probably some stuff Ive forgotten) All of this for $4500.00 dollars. Well I was thinking that was a little steep when he said...Also both of my trucks.

A 1973 Chevy 4x4 3/4 ton and a 1971 Chevy 4x4 3/4 ton. He is the original owner of the 71. Back in the late 90s he had all the rust in it repaired. Rebuilt the entire drivetrain, and had it repainted. He also had it rhino lined, which is kind of a bummer since he had the tailgate lined too...it had never been on the truck up till then. He thinks maybe its had 500 miles put on it since the rebuild. Unfortunately its been sitting outside nearly all that time. Its going to need a good buffing and there is a small spot of rust on one of the fenders.

I'm going to clean and polish up the 73 and sell it. He said he is fine with that. I'm thinking I should be able to get 2500 for it pretty easily. On the 71 I'm going to bring the black painted bumpers and trim back to chrome, and probably not much more (maybe some polished mags?). Just enjoy it I guess. He knows I love the old Chevy trucks, thats why he gave me the super deal. When we pulled it of the little Costco tent he purchased last year for it you could tell he was going to be very sad to see it go. I wont ever sell it.
