Column shifter sticky

I am sure there is a thread about this very thing , but I couldn't find it.
found some similar ones . Heres the deal ATM column shifter won't hardly go
front (forward) or back (rearward) kinda tuff side to side (P to 1st)
I lubed the linkage w/o pulling anything apart (underhood) seems to me the lever itself my be binding with dirt and corrosion at pivot ? Do I need to drive out roll pin and lube up or has something let loose inside ?
Thanks in advance !
