Changing out stock tank w/ new one ?s

Okay, got my new tank, sending unit, etc and will be doing this tomorrow. Couple of questions, though:

1. Does anything need to be put on the new filler grommet for sealing purposes?
2. I've read about making sure the sender is sealed well. Any tips/tricks to making this happen?

Thanks. sb
