New from Joshua, TX

Just found this site a few days ago. I wish I'd known about it before, maybe I could have saved myself a few headaches. I have a '71 stepside, bought it a few years ago as an old farm truck. I put a 350 Target Motor and 700-R4 in it, moved the gas tank to the rear, primed it, and pretty much did nothing else but drive it for almost 5 years. In the last year and a half I've gotten a little more done:
Completely redone the suspension - Lowered 3" front and rear, and added sway bars. Redone all the steering components and added quick ratio power steering. Installed '83 Camaro seats and a new Grant steering wheel, With a billet adapter I made myself. Also made the stainless turn signal lever and hazard knob. Rebuilt the stock 12 bolt with a 3:73 Eaton Posi. Added a Lunati cam to the stock 350. Tucked and sectioned the old steel farm truck bumper, and added flush balckup lights ($14 fog lights from Wally World), and Billet Specialties tail lights, as well as boxed the license plate into the rear valance. Shave the stake pockets and tailgate chains. Added a new billet grill and front bumper, and a cowl induction hood.
I'm working on a donor cab right now that will include a 3" chop (70% done), shaved drip rail, smooth firewall, and move the toe boards out for a little more leg room. I'll try to post some pics of that as it moves along.

Glad to be here!
