Towing question
I have a '72 GMC C20 Custom burb. The hitch is the one that goes all the way under my huge gas tank.
My trailer is a Trail Sport 27ft. The dry weight is only 4200, and loaded up is not over 5500lbs. I have a Reese weight distribution hitch with anti-sway. So with the original stuff on the burb, except for the newer 350 engine, and the 3 speed tranny, do any of you think this thing can haul my travel trailer for a trip of about 200-250 milesand back of course. From the summer heat of AZ to San Diego. One semi-mountainous pass. My mechanic that went through the engine says that it is in excellent shape, and the tranny was just gone through also. I would have it rewired for the trailer brakes. It was already wired for trailer brakes, but I am unsure how good that wiring is. What do you think....?
