if you want to build a "numbers matching" truck it might be a worthwhile project. are you going to put it back 100% stock or add a few goodies to personalize it to your liking? if you are changing anything from original then i'd look for something in better condition. i bought my 72 cheyenne super 4x4 for $1200.00(i know, mine's a longbed but it was 100% stock/original) but i'm not big on "numbers matching" and i added things to my liking. if i were a purist then i'd look for a nice , low mileage original that was a good driver.
you'll have a ton of money in that one to bring it back to life again unless you do all the work yourself. for that kind of money, i'd pass and look for something else needing less rust repair and at least driveable and build to your specs. this is my opinion and you can take it with a grain of salt since i'm a cheap S.O.B.
