Carb fires suck

Just as I was fixin to trade off my new Edelbrock 600 for an Edelbrock 750...POOF, I get a flame job UNDER my hood.
Damage is not bad, but I still ended up ripping my carb down for a rebuild, and good scrubbing. All the plastic melted, andeverything is black instead of pretty.
Huge bummer, it's been running sooooooo awsome lately.
