Odd Distributor Question - ???

I know the trick of marking the rotor position and the vac pot position for easily replacing a distributor, but I'm getting ready to install one that doesn't have a vac advance. Does the distributor position (other than the rotor) matter? Should there be a mark for number one on the new distributor?

For background info... I replacing a coil in cap HEI with a skip white small cap dizzy (8930R) that only works with external coil and external ignition box (MSD 6A in my case)

I'm guessing that as long as I pick a terminal for #1 and orient the other wires from that I'll be fine, but thought I'd do a sanity check before starting...

Here's a link to the distributor...

Thanks, Tony
