Planning out my project...suspension
I am in the planning stages of my project. I have a 65 c-10 that I did a long time ago that now needs updates/repairs. My plan is to have a ride height of about 5" from the ground to the bottom of the rocker at the front fender (not the pinch weld, but the flat of the rocker panel). I will be using some sort of 4 link in the rear, 30" tall rear tire and a 26-27" tall front tire. The truck will be a steet/strip with the goals of running in the upper 11's, just not so quick that I need a roll bar.
My question is what can be done on the cheep to get a good ride with stock style parts? I am looking at the dropmember, maybe even the C4 version. If I go that way, what are the best years to get the C$ suspension parts? Any comments are welcome...
