Drove the '62 to Wal-Mart and....
...some guy came up to me to says "nice truck"... Then he tells me he has one in his yard that he's looking to get rid of. He told me it was a '63, with no title, and plenty of extra parts, $250. Sounded like a decent deal so I got his number and called him up to go look at it. After work yesterday we went to check it out...the truck and his parts...It turned out to be a 64-66...one fender had a 64 emblem and a 66 on the other, shortbed fleetside, no engine or tranny, rust in the common places, okay looking truck, BUT it's the parts that got me excited. He had brand new rockers, inner and outer, both sides, floor patches, fender patches, and everything you need to convert the truck to 5 lug with front discs. I guess he bought a wrecked 66 that had been converted and robbed all parts off of it... control arms, rotors, calipers, brake master and booster, and a rearend that "may" be posi that seemed to be new or just recently gone through... plus another box of goodies that he's throwing in. The plans are to just use the parts we need on my girl's 65, get this truck running with an extra 250 that I have, and sell the truck as a project... I have a title for it already. So the morale of the story is, "When you drive your old truck, the deals come to you...."
