Wood floor ????’s

I just ordered the wood and strips and bolts to build my bed. I am definitely painting the inside of the bed wood and strips body color like GM did, but my question has to do with the bottom side of the boards and bed.

1. From what I can tell the cross members are black and maybe had some overspray of undercoating on them. Or were the fully coated with the undercoating?

2. What did GM do on the bottom side of the wood. Was it raw wood, primer, or coated with something else?

Thanks ,Jason
