anybody cut the upper crossmember spring pocket?

Whats happening?? I am looking at ways to get my current 67 project lower in the front... Its bagged with a kp notch in the rear.. I am on the fence about z'ing the frame right now.. I may go that way but at this point not ready to make the cut... I see a lot of guys are cutting the lower control arms apart and welding a cup for the bag to sit lower in.... Has anyone cut the upper side of the crossmember where the plate/bag mount bolts in and move it up higher? Looking at the frame it looks like it should work... I know you can never run a coil spring again but thats not an issue... Thoughts???

Look at the second pic for an Idea of what I mean... (jacked from backyard88's build thread.. Thanks... )
