Unhappy Ignition Module keeps frying

Hi everyone, I have an 87 gmc sierra classic with a 5.7l 350. For the last year i have been replacing my ignition Module almost every month. The reason was because at random times it just wouldnt start. It would turn over just fine though. I can usually get it going in time with some ether. It occurrs most often in wet conditions and with the engine cold. It seems that this may be a common problem with these trucks but neither me or my mechanic knows what to do next... I love my truck and want to keep it for another 20 years everything else in it is perfect. Help please!
