Torque bracket mounting
On my 67 K10 with a NP205 transfer case there is no torque bracket. I assume that this truck originally had a timken (211 or 221?). When the PO swapped in the 205 they did not use the torque bracket and there are no holes in the frame .
To drill the holes in the frame should I ... Bolt the bracket to the transfer case, bolt the two halfs of the bracket together, mark holes on inside rail of frame, remove tranny/transfercase(replacing anyway), drill holes in frame, reinstall new tranny/transfercase? OR Is there a way to measure/drill from the outside of the frame? Does any one have dimensions? Thanks Eric
