70 GMC 355/142 mini blower track results
Posting for my buddies truck. He posts on here as Jslater I think??? Anyways we put a 142 miniblower on his truck awhile ago and finally got a chance to get it to the track. N/A its best pass was 14.79 at 91.5mph on 27" street tires. This time added the 142 miniblower and 28" drag radials. Track condition were fair and had about a 10mph headwind. Right at 4200lb race weight.
First pass...27 deg total with muffs on...........13.78 at 96.5....1.94 60 foot 2nd pass....same set up...better launch..........13.56 at 96.6....1.90 60 foot 3rd pass...29 total.......................................13.54 at 96.5....1.89 60 foot 4th pass...29 deg total...removed 2.5" Super 40's....13.40 at 97.6....1.87 60 foot We made a couple more passes after this but the track went away and it was getting slick. All in all he was very happy. Not bad at all for the 882 smog heads with 1.94/1.50 valves! Next he needs to get some bungs welded in the exhaust so we can see what the AFR is doing. Then plans to replace the 2.5" flows with some 3" highflow muffs. Also remove the snug lid and tail gate to drop some easy weight. Should see some solid 13.1-13.2's soon. Then he plans to put some decent heads on it and run solid 12's. Might also need to address the converter. I calculated it out at 13-14% slip. I think its eating up some of his trap speed. Guys with 12-13 second trucks how much mph are you picking up from 1/8 to 1/4?? He is picking up about 16.5 mph or so. Last edited by 6D9; 11-09-2008 at 01:02 PM. |
