Retiring the DD

Well guys, it's a sad day, but I'm finally going to be putting my daily driver '91 suburban out to pasture. I've been driving it 50+ miles a day for over 2-1/2 years now to go back and forth to work. I've toughed it out as long as I could, but I finally picked up a new ride for daily commuting that will be a little easier on the pocket book. This brings the stable count up to 4, but hey, there's still room for more. My plan is to fix the odds and ends on the burb that I've neglected over the last few years, but I haven't decided if I'll keep it or not. If I sell it I could definitely pay for the paint on the '78, but I'm not even close to that stage yet.

Anyway, I picked up a '01 Jetta TDI. This will be the 3rd VW for our household, and 1 of 2 currently. My work commute should only use about a gallon of gas per day. I I've done the math right, the car will actually pay for itself just in fuel savings alone, with all the nice modern perks.
