So you say you like powdercoating,... look these pics,...
First,... this is not a slam against ECE or powdercoaters in general.
I purchased a 6" drop kit, shock re-loactors, and SuperTrack bar from ECE years ago for my '71 swb project truck. (now getting parted out) Anyway,... I sold my bed to 72BlckButy last year and when I removed it,... this is what I found. This set up has about 150 miles on it. That's all. I've had this same stuff from ECE on my 2wd blazer since 2004 and it looks like new. I know "production" powdercoating is a little different than the guys that do quality work,... but I couldn't believe it. The truck sat outside but was never driven. All of this was covered from the weather by the bed until I removed it to sell. Then it was cover with a tarp,... but by that time it wass too late. The Track Bar had huge flakes of coating falling off of it. I still like powdercoating, (I even shipped a few items to Txfirefighter Saturday to coat for me),... so what do you think caused this? Poor prep? Rusty metal? Again,... not a slam on ECE,... I just wanted your opinions. I'm going to blast and paint this stuff for my '69 swb.
