Fuel boiling in filter

I noticed yesterday the fuel was boiling in my clear fuel filter. Its a stock 350 with an edelbrock performer carb with a Mr. Gasket adaptor to the quad intake. This setup has been on the truck for 12 years with no trouble. I overhauled the carb 2 weeks ago, just for preventative maintanance.
A friend told me, without looking at the truck, that the intake gaskets are blown out at the heat crossover runner. Allowing full exhaust flow through instead of being restricted through a small hole.
Since this started my the carb was worked on, I think that is the problem. What do you guys think?
I went to the parts store and they had to order the intake gaskets. ???!!!. I must be getting old. No gaskets in stock for a small block chevy? I guess I should be driving a honda! ED67C20
