Backspacing and Suspension Questions

I think I have finally decided on a new set of wheels. I really like the way the polished Coy's C5's look and they are more friendly on a broke college students wallet. I was wondering how it would look if I did 17x8 with 4 1/2" backspacing on the front and 17x8 with 4" backspacing on the rear. I hate it when it looks like the front wheels stick out further than the back. Also what would be a good size tire for this set up. I was thinking 255/40/17 in front and 275/40/17 in the back.
I was planning on lowering the front with 2.5" drop spindles and 3" drop springs and a flip kit in the back. Is any body else out there running a similar set up that could share some pics. Also will this suspension set up affect the driveshaft angle or length. I am new to lowering vehicles. Thanks in advance.
