What A Weekend

Finally got the truck to the track this past weekend after a bustinmy tail to get it ready. Started out running 9.00s. After some timing adjustments and letting the clutch out at 4200rpm instead of 2500rpm got her down to a 8.478 @ 82.736mph with a 1.811 60'. Next pass slung the rear u-joint and figured since it was about 5:00pm on saturday and there was a free race on sunday, I could get parts and get it fixed. Unhooked the van from the trailer and headed to the nearest parts store, only 25 miles one way from the track. Got a new u-joint and u-joint straps. went to put the new straps in only to reliaze the the pinion yoke was messed up bad. So back to the van to drive another 30 miles one way to go to the house and get another yoke. Get back to the track about midnite. Put the new yoke one and go to hook the driveshaft back up on to see that the pinios is pointing up about 30 degrees. Yikes! Turned the spot welds that hold the axle tube in the diff had broke on the driver side caused all the load to be put on passenger side and twistin the tubes along with bending the trailing arm. So at about 1:30am decided to call it quits and go to sleep, and put it on the trailer and go home sunday. Bout the only good news was I found a buddy that had a good housing and welded the tube to the diff for $30 and I did learn a whole lot. Chris.

BTW, Its got a muncie m-20 it and I aint puttin an automatic in it. lol. I'd rather break parts left and right. lol.
