ah, valve cover bracket. sometimes abbreviations are not all obvious to me. If they were on the other direction, they would only touch at the ends and the bolt would be bound in the bracket as it tries to roll over. There is a much larger contact area the way they are installed and the bolt can be properly tightened as well. I did not build the motor, but I would be very suprised if they were not on correctly.
