Sucess!!!!
boy am i a happy camper today...with the low hump in the 67 and the th400 and lokar shifter we werent going to be able to have enough clearance, there were a couple options with our problem, either get a 67-72 auto tranny crossmember or get a big hump and replace the small hump, since im on a budget me and my dad decided to make the 85 cross member work, and it did!!!the tailshaft was about 1 1/2" too high with the newer style member so what we did was cut out the top half of the center of the x member where the tranny bolts down and the welded a plate flat over the cut (if that makes sense) and then boxed the ends where we cut downwards, this probably sounds really complicated but it worked out well and we gained about 1 3/4" - 2" of clearance by doing this, so there should be plenty of room now, and finally i got to use my welding skills on the truck i know this isnt any special news to you guys but damn am i happy, ill post pics when they get developed and scanned and maybe they might come in handy for you guys that might want to try it
