Question Best solution for Jacks?

Hi, all. My recently acquired '72 C10 doesn't have the original jack kit (how many do?), and I want to buy a bottle jack to keep in the truck in case I get a flat tire. My truck has original suspension, not lifted or modified in any way.

My question is, is a bottle jack the best solution to replace the original jack kit, for lifting both the front and back? If so, what is the max lift height I need if I lift from the recommended lift points (such as lower A frame support in front, if I recall correctly)?

Here is a great thread with pictures of the original kit, and it states that the jack is 16" raised. Does that sound right? http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...highlight=jack
