I found a couple of needed parts at the junkyard
I got a pleasant surprize today. I went to a pick-a-part that I'd not been to before and found a couple of things I've been wanting. There was 2 of our trucks there, a C-20 that was so picked over there was not much left, I couldn't even tell what year it was, and a 72 C-30 Longhorn. The longhorn had a swaybar, it's 1 and 1/16th diameter.
Someone had tried to get it, but must have given up. They just got one of the brackets off, and I couldn't find it anywhere. I didn't have any means of grinding off the rivets that held on the mounts, I'll either have to go back with something cordless or try to find some for sale. How hard are they to come by? There was also a power brake set up with the prop valve for front discs. I took the whole thing because all the braces and that was there. It's probably better than the mis-matched set-up I have: And last, since it was just laying on the seat, a printed circut for a gauge dash. Can't have too many of them to choose from. I should have grabbed the dash too, it's in fairly good shape-just the wrong color. $32 bucks and a skinned knuckle. Not too bad, I think.
