Unhappy Well my rearend blew out (I think)

Well after I got out of school today I took my truck around my circle drive to move it into the garage to start welding on my patch pannels and I hear CLA- CLUNK and my engine rapps out. Im in the street at this point I hop out thinking oh no my tranny hopped out of gear. I see behind me a big puddle of antifreeze I crawl under it to see if mabey my linkage poped off from the tranny or something , nope it's all good. I burn my wrist on my header and looking back I see my drive shaft spinning freely . This is when I figure the rearend shelled. I add a bunch of water to my radiator and let it cool down for awhile. I come back out ten mins later and start it back up running it through the gears ......nothing! it won't move. I called my neighbor and they helped me push it back into the driveway.

How much work is it and is it worth it to try to find a F*RD 9 inch?

So it looks like i'll be on craigslist looking for a new rearend for under $100 or try to sell my guitars for some more cash to avoid having to try to get my parents to loan me any money. Looks like it may be sitting for a few weeks until my summer job starts.
