I messed up big time

I am in the process of rebuilding my NP205 transfer case. I was so excited today cause my seal kit came in and I will finally be able to get this beast on the road again. I guess I was in a rush during assembly and forgot to install the shims on the Idler shaft ( I was just about done with assembly too) The Idler shaft was a pain to get in (a vary tight fit) and upon removal I mushroomed out the threads. I called around and I cant find one anywhere. I am seriously pissed! I am going to get out of the garage and drown my sorrows
