story of my poor ole truck
just a few pic of my 70 c10. this truck has been threw alot in the last 2 years. originally a 3 on the tree 6,short stepside, it had a 454 th400 in it when i bought it. replaced the step with a fleet, pulled the 454 and put in a 355 crate motor with th350, pulled that without even cranking it. then the truck was put on the back burner til the trans went out in my 00 frontier. when that happened i pulled my subs amp and capacitor out of my frontier and traded them for an 83 swb with what i was told was a 350 with a bad trans, pulled the trans and replaced it with a spare i had. drove the truck and the suspension was worn out, so i decided to put the motor and trans in my 70 model. after that the motor had a slight valve tick, well being in high school i took it to my auto instructor to have him set the lash. well long story short he didnt do it right and i had 0 compression on the number 2 cylinder. drove it for a day not knowing what the problem was. took it back the next morning and he fixed the problem. 2 weeks after that the cam shaft breaks in 3 peices, drops a intake valve, and completly destroys the motor knocking 3 holes in the number 2 hole and hydro locked the motor. upon pulling the motor out i saw that it was a very well built 383 and not a 350, 4 bolt mains, double roller chain, had roller tip rockers and heads were ported and polished nicely.. that was a disappointment luckily i still had the crate motor and the timing of all this happening was good i had just graduated and got about 500 from that. so a new motor and 500 or 600 later the truck was running again. drove it 50 miles and the trans goes out. the tabs on the pump which the torque converter sits on and spins the pump had sheared off. guess they became stressed when the motor dropped the valve? so i trailer it home with the help of a friend, get the trans pulled and put another in. button everything up and crank the truck, drop it into gear and NOTHING at all. wow. i was pissed. pull it all back out and the same thing had happened again. so i had to buy a new pump. this fixed the problem and ive put maybe 150 or 200 miles on the truck since the trans install. then today i was backing into the garage and hung my rigged exhaust i have bolted straight to the collectors and tweaked my header so im gonna give a go at fabing my own exhaust from pipe i have laying around tomorrow.
but anyways that was long and pretty much the entire history of my pickup since ive owned it lol
