Aaaggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh#@!%
So here a few months ago one of my many dreams came true. The 72 Sub I traded for got a rebuilt engine and became my daily driver.
I had been wanting one of these for a daily driver for some time. Here a week or so ago I noticed a slight knocking while setting the final timing after I installed a new distributor. Only 500 miles on engine. I called the machine shop that did the work and they asked for me to bring in the oil filter. I did, which resulted in them asking me to bring them the truck. I trailered the truck to them today. The result, they are pretty sure I have lost a rod bearing. They have accepted responsibility and will repair the engine at no cost. Except, for me yanking it back out and taking it to them. Anyway, pretty frustrating. Just venting. ... and yes, I checked and they checked the new distributor, the fly wheel, the troque converter, adjusted timing, etc etc ...
