Any made there own floor pan?

The PO on my blazer did a fine job of hiding all the rust in the floors. It needs front mounts, inner rockers, patch panels etc. I just went ahead and cut the whole passenger side out. The plan is to build my own floor out of sheetmetal. My buddy has a break so bending it up will be no problem. I went ahead and ordered the front cab mounts, rockers, and the inner rocker that has part of the floor. the plan is to install the new parts and then build the floor. I hated to spend the $ to by the one piece floor and have to cut the center out for my trans. I will build my own skeleton out of some tubing that will provide the strength I will need.

Has anyone else built there own floor from scratch?
