Gas mileage on my 06 1/2 ton 4/4 Silverado

I towed a 6 by 12 u-haul trailer loaded and togeather with my truck it all weighed a little over 10,000 lbs ..I weighed it axle by axle at a truck weighing stop near me .

I traveled to Southern California over Mt Solo and the miles was right at 1000 miles

I got 13 miles to the gallon

Comming home I had no trailer ,,but did have about 700 lbs extra and I got between 18 and 19 miles per gallon.. never went over 75 milles an hour except coasting down Mt Solo @ about 80 miles and hour ..

I guess my thoughts are that no weight or 700 lbs of weight ,,same gas miliage ,,you think ?

Just sharing for what ever it is worth Gopapa Larry
