Stepside rear end - Opinions

I have been thinking of ways to do the rear end on my '67 Stepside and saw these pics from a show in Boise recently.

I like the clean look on this 1963:



I am not sure I like the ZR1 rollpan on this 55 though. I think these look much better on the 88+ body styles.
