2 piece driveline trouble

I have had trouble all week diagnosing this and had the vehicle acting like brakes are dragging etc. vibration was starting.

I jacked it up and ran it in high gear and WOW!!! what a bunch of noise and driveline jittering around..............I thought the rear end was gonner!!!
I watched the area around the slip splines right behind the carrier bearing and noticed the most movement there. There was play in the rear u-joint. I turned it off and shook the shaft. The slip spline is shot also the rear joint.
Question is which way to go with this..............replace as stock or go one piece???????

I turned the rear axle over back and forth the best I could by hand and all is smooth. The stethescope had noises all the way out to the drums so I thought bad brakes???? then with the stethescope out of my ears I heard the clanging up by the slip spline.
