is it me or is this town nuts..sanblasting/acid dip

I had some rust bubble up on the bottom of my tool box door. Knowing these doors are really bad for that, IM jumping on it. while I am at it, IM going to fix those ugly weld ripples then re paint the tail gate.

I figure the best way to do it, it to just have them acid dipped. Clean up all the rust in between the double walls, etc., so I call the one place in town that does this. he said that he wont because it will cause contamination in his tank that he will have to clean... wtf!

OK, so ill have them sand blasted... they guy looked at the tool box door and was hemming an hawing..lol. Then said, it would be 40 bucks just for the door. It would take lots of time he said...... am i missing something here? hell i had my whole side car basted for 50 bucks.. geez

the tool box door really needs to be soaked in something. there is lots of rust flakes in side... any ideas what to soak it in?

guess im sanding everything..
