Help me please

Here's the deal: Just bought my new truck a couple weeks ago. Drove it for quite a while with no problems. Now, i can start it up and it will stay rnning for a minute or two then die, like you just turn the key off. I checked my distributor and coil, put a new fuel pump on it, cleaned out the carb like crazy, and it still doesnt work. Yesterday i noticed that when it died, all of the lights and my radio went off with it, then turned right back on. Also, my battery died. We can charge it up with another truck and get my truck running for a few minutes, then it'l die and we have to charge the battery again. So, could this be just an alternator problem, or what? Because it has me, my dad, and all of my dad's friends stumped on what is going on.
