Torque Converter Question?
Ok, I have read all I can on torque converters, but curious to see what others have ran. My 84 c-10 has a SB 350 with '99 Vortec heads, 274 advertised duration cam, 218 @.50 on both int and ex, 106 lobe sep, I run a holley 750 cfm carb. 10.2:1 compression. I input all the fine details into desktop dyno and says my peak torque is 427 @ 3500 rpm. So my brother in law says to run a 3500-3800 rpm converter. I was running a 2300 rpm and it was way too tight, But I killed that transmission and now installing a beefed up th350. Is this stall sounding right? The truck is a little heavier because I have a 305lb steel floor in the stepside. Any thoughts?
