1 ton leaf springs

I have leaf springs & auxiliary springs on my '72 1 ton. Are the auxiliaries supposed to rest against the bracket mounted to the frame when there's no load? Because mine are not. I'm wondering if after 37 years these springs need to be re-arched. Also, does anyone know the spec for the spring arch?
