windshield chrome trim Q?

Well guys I ordered the chrome trim for the windshield from lmc and I'm gettin ready to replace it, cause it's real jacked up, and I'm wondering if anybody has tried to do this by themselves w/o removing the rubber b/c that is still in good condition! Can I do this with the tool they sell at oreillys? Or is it better to take it to a windshield shop and pay them? Any suggestions? Thanks...

Let me know guys...........
