Re: Newbie with 72 Blazer
Length 2x4's = 76" (need 4) Width 2x4's = 53" (need 7) Diagonal cut 2x4's to mount the casters to go under the corner 4x4's 4x4 Risers to meet bed floor height = 11.5" (the 2x4 goes on top for 13" of height) Total height of 4x4's - mine are 20" (for the short ones) and the body was less than an inch away from clearing my 6'10" garage door opening. There is no reason it can't be shorter so keep that in mind. The little "pads" that are taller than the frame sit on the torsion boxes. The rear most "coffee holder pad" sits under a bed floor support between the wheel wells. The middle "pads" actually hang over the edge of the 2x4 by 1.5" on each side to better contact the torsion box. A single 2x4 at 55" would work the same I assume. In the pic you can see the front "pads" that the rocker boxes would sit on - I ended up removing those and keeping the middle and coffee pad and now the body sits on all 6 points. I also added metal L brackets but not sure they help any - it's a very solid structure with just nails. If any of this is unclear please let me know. |
