my 72 blazer project
Hello all, I recently picked up up a 72 4x4 blazer that am about to restore/ modify. First how I got the blazer. I have always wanted a 69 - 72 blazer and my Mom's had dad one that he sold when I was around 5 yrs old. My other grandfather's friend had one he used on his farm and trips to town, that I had ridden in several times. Well I asked about it in 2005 and he told me he had sold it . Now just 3 weeks ago I see a ad for a "71 blazer $1000" in the local craigslist. So I called about it, went to see it that morning, 28 degrees and very windy I didnt look it over very good but ended up buying for 800. The guy says the title is being mailed and I can pick it up in 2 days. Two days later I go back to get the title and notice that it was actually a 72 and that it was the one I tried to buy in 05 as it had my granfather's friend listed as previous owner. Now my plans are to restore the body and add a 99 Tahoe's frame , 350 engine , 4l60e , electric shift transfer case and 3.73 gears. pictures below show the current state, and the tahoe frame. The blaser has the usuall rusty rockers, front lower quarters and rust from the battery along with a cracked up hatch.but in over all good codition.
