New Project: 68 GMC Suburban - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have recently acquired a 68 GMC Suburban, and will very soon be starting on the rebuild.

I'm welcoming advice and tips from anyone who has done this before! Anything I should expect/look out for? It's mechanically sound, 4WD works. The body is exceptionally solid. A few rust spots and dents, here and there, but I already have the sheet metal to replace it. I do need to replace the LH "Barn Door". The interior is completely thrashed/gutted. No front seat, no heater control module, no stereo, missing some door panels, no 3rd row seat, no head-liner.

Also, does anyone know of any good sites for replacement parts? Interior, exterior, doors, etc.

Considering a 454 swap. Anyone know where to find deals on engines?
