gas tank location

warm weather has allowed me to start working on truck i bought over the winter. the previous owner mounted a plastic fuel cell under the bed.the problem is you have to open gate and climb in to get at it. the hole is too small to easily acess fill cap.hate to cut it larger since location isnt good. any thoughts on just mounting it in bed behind driver so i can drive truck while deciding on options?
