Re: Project' 69 c10 aka sin.
I think it's worth a grand, especially where we live, and considering the shape it's it. I'm diggin' it.
On the drivers side of the block, towards the back, there should be a pipe plug that'll drain the coolant out. Otherwise, petcock on the raditor, or take the bottom radiator hose off. I've always used the pipe plug in the block for draining my sixes. some basic info: http://www.oldride.com/library/1962_...t_bel_air.html If the engine is stock, it's definitely a 230. If not, it could be either a 230 or a 250 - the only difference between the two is the stroke. You can tell by looking at the pistons - the 230 was flat top, and the 250 was dished, if I remember right. Otherwise, get the engine block numbers off it, and check them. The only thing you may have going for you is that it's a pre-250 block, being a '62. So it might come up 230 straight across the board. Otherwise, the blocks are interchangable. So, the best thing is, is that any newer generation of L6 or V8 will bolt right in. 194, 230, 250 sixes, 265, 283, 305, 307, 327, 350..yadda yadda...You get the picture. Once again, I really dig that land yacht. Four doors are really warming up to me... -Sam.
