How low should it go??

Quick poll type question....I want to lower my '69 SWB C-10 from original height using new springs front and rear. I want the truck to look like it's been dropped a few inches, but don't want the frame on the ground; Vermonts frost heaves and potholes would kill a low truck fast! I'm planning on running 15" Rallye wheels with tires somewhere around 275-60-15's; a set of rubber that is wide, but still has substantial sidewall height. What would you recommend the drop be for optimal appearance. I don't want the tires to disappear into the wheelwells, but also don't want a 5" gap between the tire and wheelwell. I've heard everything from 2", 4" to 4" 6" front-rear drop. Any suggestions?? I want the truck to look about like the below when done. Thanks all....
