mixing tie rod ends

i'm sure this should be entered in the suspension threads, but i wanted to put it where it will get the most exposure. everyone talks about putting disc brakes on 67-68 trucks using 72 and up gm spindles, just use 72 tie rod ends on the spindle side with an adapter adjuster sleeve from cpp to mate the two tie rods together. 65-70 tie rods have 5/8 threads and 71-72 have 11/16 threads. what everyone fails to mention is that in 71 gm changed the direction of the threads on the tie rods. 65-70 inners are right threads, 71-72 inners are left threads. the same holds true for the outers. so if you are doing the spindle swap you need 71-72 inners installed on the spindle end so you would end up with one right thread and one left. if you just order a 71-72 outer for your swap you'll end up with two tie rods both with right threads which just wont work
