two types of hinges?

Hi all,

I've got a problem with the tailgate of my '79 fleetside pickup. The hinge (or trunnion they are called I believe) on the bedside will not fit the part in the tailgate. It's too large. When I bought the truck the tailgate was not installed, it just laid in the bed, now I probably know why.

So I guess there are at least two sizes for this part, how do I know which one to order?
