7? Cheyenne Super 10

Since I got my old beater, my dad has been constantly talking about his old "yeller" truck. I am on the prowl for one now to make a clone.... Wanted to toss up the one and only photo I've been given (mom snuck it to me), see if anyone could assist with a year on it. Photo is dated 1977, April. Makes me 6 years old in the photo.

Dad bought it when it was a fairly new truck, claims it had "1000 miles on it", newest truck he'd ever owned. It had been smashed in the front, he bought it as a salvage and rebuilt it. He had always done builders, we never owned cars unless they had been wrecked. He'd work at which ever shop he was employed at during the days, and then come home and work on his own stuff every night and weekend. Fix 'em, drive 'em, sell 'em, rinse and repeat sorta thing.

He kept this one for 3 years though, about the longest he ever owned a vehicle. Claimed it would run up to the 100mph mark on the speedo, and then wrap back around to about 20mph before stopping the climb in speed. I am going to go through more photo albums tomorrow, mom said there are some shots of the truck being repaired, hoping to get one of the grille/front end to help me sort out a year model.

Only thing that really helps me is the fender emblem, via a magnifying glass I can clearly make out Cheyenne super 10 (73-76 I think). Thought maybe someone else might notice something to give a clue. I'm leaning to '75, but could be a '76.

Anyways, everyone enjoys photos. Even if it is a picture of a photo (will scan tonight hopefully). Only truck I've ever known him to have a set of aftermarket wheels on too. Spot light, whip antennas..... breaker breaker one nine!
