Two important questions

Before I dive into changing the intake and HEI tomorrow I have two important questions.

First Important (but dumb!) Question: Am I right in thinking that number one cylinder on a SBC is the front one passenger side and then they go front to back and then back to front on the other side (i.e. round in a circle)?

Second Important (but dumb!) Question: If I am using RTV sealant instead of the rubbber end seals on the intake what size bead of RTV do I need to use?

I'm sure once I start stripping it down I'll be running inside with more questions and cursing the time difference as most of you guys will still be in bed.
